Seafood Sessions: East Coast vs. West Coast Oysters with David Goudge, Proprietor of Sea Star Vineyards

Every Thursday during happy hour we'll be featuring a different Ocean Wise seafood or shellfish and we'll have our local fishermen and women, shellfish farmers or our kitchen team on hand to share some stories and tricks of the trade over a drink and some happy hour snacks.

Join us on Thursday, June 27th with special guest and co-host David Goudge, Proprietor of Sea Star Vineyards on Pender Island. He’ll be pouring their ‘Salish Sea’-a blend of Ortega and Siegerrebe. The name is a celebration of it’s distinctive terroir and the beautiful waters that surround their vineyards. ‘Salish Sea’ is a bright, expressive white wine with notes of melon, grapefruit, peach, guava, and herbs. It also makes for a beautiful pairing with fresh oysters on the half shell. Our team will be shucking oysters alongside, David, and discussing the differences between east and west coast oysters, and the regional conditions that influence their shape, texture, and flavour.
